Customer first - Digitisation is not just a buzzword: the real estate industry is in a period of transformation! Berlin Hyp is keen on playing a leading role in shaping this process. The digital transformation must be thought through and implemented not only from the Bank’s perspective, but also – crucially – from that of the customer.
Internal processes put to the test
Existing business processes must be scrutinised and planned anew. With intelligent networking and process automation, Berlin Hyp is digitising its internal value chain. The IT architecture follows standardised further development to an integrated SAP bank. This further enhances the flexibility, security, quality and availability of data and reporting. Combined with process optimisations, even faster possibilities to react to customer requirements are thus being created.


What does the market offer?
Start-ups, PropTechs, FinTechs, artificial intelligence?
We are closely monitoring the market for interesting digitisation trends and are examining new business approaches. Berlin Hyp has now reached a number of key milestones. In particular, this involved the successful market entry of its own start-up OnSite ImmoAgent (a crowd-based real estate inspection service), participation at the Berlin Proptech 21st Real Estate (with which artificial intelligence can effectively be used for valuation) and cooperation with Carbon Delta, examining the effects of climate risks on properties in terms of “value at risk”. Furthermore, we invested in the “PropTech1” venture capital fund as part of our digitisation strategy and reached another milestone with the participation of a strategic investor in our start-up OnSite ImmoAgent.

The digital transformation of our business processes is driving not only the technical, but also above all the cultural change of the Bank. New features, such as higher digital skills, networking and mobile working are becoming increasingly important. An exciting challenge!
