Lay the foundation for your successful career now with a tailor-made trainee programme at Berlin Hyp! In just 18 months, we get you fit for your future in the financial world and the challenges which await you in the various divisions of a leading real estate bank.
Trainees start with us on 1 April and 1 October each year. Our trainee programme is special because there is no rigid sequence plan. Instead, we give you the freedom to participate in structuring the plan according to your wishes and interests. The result is an individual programme which gives you insights into various areas of our bank and the best possible preparation for your fixed target position. The focus is on your later target area and interface areas. We frequently look for trainees to support our lending business, but support is also welcome in other specialist divisions.
The start to your trainee programme can be the beginning of a wonderful partnership – and above all a long-term partnership, because we only train for our own requirements. Take a look at our Career Centre to find out if we are still looking for trainees for next year.

TRAINEE PROGRAM A successful start – thanks to Beginners Day and your mentor

It is important for us that you get off to a good start. This is the reason for “Beginners Day”: on your first day with us we accompany you on a tour of the entire bank, you meet other trainees and colleagues and receive an overview of the sequence of your programme and other important topics.
As we know you will certainly have a lot of questions – not only at the start – we nominate an experienced mentor for each of our trainees, someone from your specialist area or team who is happy to support you both with specialist questions and on issues connected with career planning. You can structure the sequence of your programme with your mentor and he/she will keep you informed about the feedback from your deployment areas. How exactly the contact between mentor and mentee looks at the end is up to you.

Training on the job is one thing. In addition, we also ensure that you obtain important background information: in all business divisions, we teach you the necessary expertise in specialist seminars. You also attend seminars with a strong methodological element together with our dual study course students which help you develop your competences. Ready for a steep learning curve? Then you have come to the right place!

Trainee Program Taking social responsibility seriously

We not only take our social responsibility seriously due to our origins as a bank – we are also glad if our trainees (like our other staff) commit to making a contribution. For this reason, we have established Social Responsibility Day, a social day for everyone who wishes to make a voluntary contribution to society. Whether you help by renovating a childcare centre, accompany residents at a senior citizens’ home on an outing, help with meals for the needy or whatever: the opportunities are varied. You will find that you can achieve impressive results together with others – and go home at the end of this day with the good feeling of having done something important for society.

"We trainees at Berlin Hyp also want to make a social commitment. For this reason, we were more than willing to use the opportunity provided by a Social Day, and planned a sports day followed by a barbecue for the children of Kinderhaus Berlin-Mark Brandenburg. All trainees enthusiastically took part. We all took the initiative ourselves in buying the necessary items, preparing everything and supervising the individual sports stations. We were of course delighted that so many children came and were very enthusiastic about the day. Our sports stations and the creative corner were a great success – and the children’s delight was the best reward for our work."

Trainee Program Will you fit in?

Most trainees start with us in our lending business, but other specialist divisions also advertise trainee vacancies. You have good chances of securing the job if you are equipped with the following:
  • Completed degree study course and initial professional practice in the area in which you wish to start work, e.g. through an internship, work as a student employee, or the like
  • Appreciation of getting to the root of things and understanding complex facts and circumstances
  • We also think it is important for you to be a communicative, committed person who is willing to take on responsibility, make a significant commitment and have high expectations about the quality of your work.
