Funding Activities
Berlin Hyp funds its assets mainly on the capital markets. Thus, we issue Mortgage Pfandbriefe, Public Pfandbriefe, Senior Unsecured, and Subordinated Debt.
As a mortgage bank Pfandbriefe are our primary funding instruments. These are issued as Jumbo-Pfandbriefe, benchmark bonds with a minimum issue size of EUR 500 mn., and as private placements. Berlin Hyp issues private placements either as bearer or as registered bonds. We are more than happy to allow for our investors’ wishes concerning structured issues. All Pfandbriefe are gilt-edged and are eligible as cover funds for insurance companies. Our bearer Pfandbriefe and Senior Unsecured bearer bonds can be used as collateral for ECB open market transactions.
